A crushed spark never ignites. That's not how you fan the flame.

That was disappointing. The ending was a big fat "meh" (and I'm being nice here) and if there is ever another book or a novella after this to tie up the huge amount of lose ends, I might come back and fix my rating. But right now I'm angry. I honestly kept reading this for the Beta Team and none of them got any closure. Not cool.

And what the hell was that thing with Kato? I'm furious! And what about the rest of my babies? Ugh! There better be more..

There's magic in spoken language. It's binding. There's a reason people ask for someone else's word.
Every sentence a person utters can be a promise—or a betrayal.

So.. Griffin and Cat are stupid. I sound like a 5 year old but I can't like them and that's a problem when it's the main characters. I'm taking one star out for each of them and giving it three for the rest of the Beta Team because they are now my babies and I think I love them.

Cat. Griffin. Please be less stupid in the next books because I love Greek Mythology and you're kinda ruining it for me.

Gah! I love this woman and I will read anything she writes.

My only issue with this one was Pike. The hot piece of ass let me down and made me want to smack him on his stupid head. If there was an option to do that and get it out of my system it would be a 5 star read.
Loved it.

You wouldn't give a second thought to a couple of men aboard your ship behaving in such a way or talking such talk. You do not get to judge us more harshly for being women.

I have twenty-eight excellent girls aboard this ship, and their pasts have shaped them. Just as yours has shaped you. And every single one of them, down to little Roslyn, deserves your respect.

Another bad-ass turned special snowflake. sigh

Callypso was an awesome siren PI and now I spent half the book with her just being clueless and worrying that she's not pretty anymore. And of course, let's not forget the whole lot of nothing that's happening.

I liked the first book. I found the story and characters really interesting and I picked this one up right after I finished, but the more I read the more "meh" I felt.
Sad.

Once again, I blame my expectations. maybe I'll give it another shot in the future.

"It's not good manners to taunt a fairy. We have notoriously thin skin." Despite the threat, his eyes spark with excitement.

"I'm sorry," I say, "your ponytail is very masculine. I feel like I'm going to grow a beard just looking at it"

I've made a mistake. It started with a prince, as most stories do.

I think not going into this with super duper expectations was really smart.

I enjoyed the book but what I really didn't like was the ending.. That final battle? I needed more from that. I mean, it's the final battle. I wanna be at the edge of my seat, you know? And then how we get everything wrapped up in a couple pages in the end. Yeah, I wasn't happy about that part either.

But whatever, the story was fun, there was a pirate/prince and sirens and a cool ship and honestly? I had fun reading it. So there you go.
